Ran into an old friend from college tonight - we both got married right after college and had lost touch - cool thing is almost 20 years later and we still recognized each other. We are going to get through the holidays and then catch up some more but it was amazing seeing her :)
I am always doing stuff with my friends now - married or single we have this amazing network and always are having a great time - I understand so much more about sisterhood now. Even with my own sister who is a decade older than I am. We are much more sisters now as adults than when we were kids. But with all my friends we have kids ranging in all ages and all have different lives but I think I could put all of them together in a room and everyone would have a great time.
I have my guy friends too - they keep an eye out for me and tease me and torment me - like a league of brothers. If I ever got over being intensely stubborn and independent they would come over and help me with some of the traditional guy jobs around my house. But I think working in a male dominated industry I have to prove that I can do it myself thank you very much lol.
So in the past 3.5 years I have reconnected with all my old friends, made bunches of new ones and am so blessed in that area.
So it baffled me that my kids while they had tons of acquaintances never really hung out with their friends. So to that end I have been working on getting my daughter together with her best friend more and finally convinced Patrick to sign up on facebook. In 24 hours he has connected with 40 of his friends and is spending his evening chatting etc - I am hoping this will lead to movies and trips to the malls and oh then the parties and the police and the phone calls to come bail out your child. Well ok no not really the last part but I do want him to make the friends and acquaintances that he will keep for a lifetime. That 20 years from now will see him out in public and remember him.
You can lose your home your car your material goods. In the end if you have your friends and your family and your faith you really do not have to worry. Everything else is taken care of.

You had to mention that I am a decade older than you, didn't you??? However, yes are are more sisters than we were when we were small. I love you dealy, however I plan to hurt you when I see you for that little snipe!! LOL LOL :):):)
Remember, I am still your BIG sister!!!
