Have not been writing much because I am still battling some injuries from the wreck.  What is injured is currently under investigation.  Have had a headache since the wreck.  A headache that has not gone away - it is always there - sometimes annoying sometimes pretty intense.  So the neurologist who is evaluating me talked me into taking Topamax (Also known as Dopamax or Stupamax for good reason) after a lively argument where I stated I did not want to take it.  I did have lots of trouble with the side effects so phew I am off that garbage and at least able to semi function again.

The other thing he ordered was some tests - MRI of the Brain and EEG.  Well I was explaining to Cath what an EEG was - how they attached electrodes to the head to detect electrical signals from the brain . . . and I get interrupted with a . . .

"Ohhhh like an Alien Abduction"

Good Lord that child is blonde.

Also today I introduced her to IM using google chat.  I am trying to teach her to use it responsibly and understand the dangers but also the fun of IM'ing.  So she is asking about some of the acronyms like LOL.  Then she types in TGIF. HMMM I said sweetheart it is Thursday.

She replies back - Toes Go In First.  I am thinking whhhhaaaaaaattt?

so she explains - TGIF can mean Toes go in first and you write that on your shoes.

This is the generation that is going to have to pay back the $700 Billion bank bail out.

LOL

So I need to write about a very amazing story about America from an immigrants point of view that was told to me this week.  But my head is aching and not really up to typing.  So here is my reminder to tell that because it truly touched me.

Tomorrow is Halloween - Catherine has worn her costume once for ballet already and it looks really great - pictures tomorrow.

Celebrating Artisans

One of my favorite annual events is the Pink Palace Crafts Fair - a wonderful collection of Arts and Crafts and Food - it is the ultimate girl friend outing too - Becky is my Pink Palace Buddy and always buys several things and loves to browse to the point of saturation which tends to occur at the same time for both of us.

Unfortunately it always occurs in early October which is traditionally not the best financial time of year for me with all of the back to school expenses but I go to enjoy and be inspired and find artists that I like.

Well this year I was very very very bad and not only splurged and bought but bought something for myself.  This will be my birthday present for myself - just 2.5 months too early lol

I have loved the jewelry from Suzanne Juneau for the past several years.  Metalwork in Copper, Bronze and Silver with lots of movement

Then this year she had a necklace that I fell in love with.  It reminded me of Art Nouvea with the flowers and the bunny tucked amongst them gave it a touch of whimsy without being cutesy  - I tried it on and it did not leave my neck - paid for it and wore it all day - received so many compliments on the necklace - it is stunning

I also like the metalwork art/sculptures that her husband does.  Maybe in a later time and a more financially affluent time I can take a roadtrip down to Scott, LA.

Operation Doggy Diet

In the 6 weeks from the crash my poor puppy has gotten FAT!!! Checked Boomer's weight and he is a hefty 16 lbs - not good.  He looks more like a loaf of bread than a cute wiener dog.

So this weekend began Operation Doggy Diet.  Now since the wreck some of my jeans have gotten a bit tight so this will be good for me as well.  Went for a two mile walk with Boomer tonight and he still had enough energy at the end to attack Picasso when he got home.

The Physical Therapist said the only way to heal the hyperflexion/hyperextension is to keep moving and active.  Last night I worked Varsity Concessions for 3.5 hours - was so sore when that was over and so the walk today was challenging.  Hopefully it will get easier soon and Boodog and I will both be trim and active soon!
