Sorry for the hiatus - but things have been so insane.
After I chaperoned Catherine's field trip, I had to get ready for three things
Friday was Catherine's birthday party for her friends. The party was simply wonderful. The girls had a great time, there were two friends from scouts, one bff that lives about 45 minutes away, one friend from ballet and four school friends. They blended together, no fights, only hours and hours of creative fun. I made them go to bed around 2:30am (when I found them eating in my bed EEEEK) and then made a wonderful breakfast the next morning. 5 of the 8 guests spent the night and they even got along in the morning all sleep deprived.
Saturday we celebrated Mother's Day and my mother and I both had a wonderful time - lovely gifts, take out Chinese to eat and some bonding time. We celebrated on Saturday because . . .
Sunday was the first half of moving our data center. We have been planning it intensely for months and months, and this was the development and staging systems. It was a rough journey with an enormous amount of "lessons learned" but it ended on schedule. I worked from 11:30am - 4:15am and then was back working again at 9:00am after a 3 hour nap. I would have loved some time to recover but we are moving production tomorrow so we all worked our behinds off again this week to get ready for tomorrow. It is going to be bigger but hopefully not as painful as last week. So this weekend I was prepared to run errands and clean and mow and really get caught up before Sunday.
Baloney.
I don't remember ever being this exhausted before in my life. Every time I sat down for a few minutes I fell asleep. I guess even the Energizer Bunny needs fresh batteries sometimes. I did get the errands done and we have two family birthdays this weekend (Catherine and Daddy) and the presents are bought for those. I got some of the picking up done but not nearly everything I need to do and I said no way to the mowing. My yard can wait a few more days and I will get it later this week.
I guess there is no *life police* that can ticket me for being behind. It is teaching me to prioritize and not to sweat the small stuff. It will get done.
